The beneficiary visited the HRO MHPSS center in Al Hamama Health Center, suffering from extreme anxiety after enduring numerous difficult situations after experiencing the devastating earthquake that hit the country.
This event severely hindered his ability to work, particularly in construction, where he often had to climb to high places, which caused him severe dizziness, imbalance, and a fear of heights.
As his condition worsened, the beneficiary decided to return to Syria, hoping for some relief, but his psychological state only deteriorated further due to exposure to bombing, destruction, and displacement.
At the clinic, a PSW conducted an initial assessment of his condition and referred him to the mh-GAP, where he received follow-up care, including a recovery plan with necessary consultations and medication for three months.
Through his commitment to the treatment sessions and appointments, coupled with his determination to recover and his sense of responsibility towards his family, the beneficiary’s condition improved significantly.
He overcame his fears and was able to return to his normal life, confidently working at heights, riding his motorcycle without fear, and moving beyond survival to become a contributing and vibrant part of his community
