Hope Revival, with the support of the Syria Cross-Border Humanitarian Fund (SCHF), is launching the “Amal” initiative, under the slogan “Because every adolescent girl deserves better opportunities for a healthy and safe life” in Jisr Ash Shugur, Darkosh, Badama, and Janudiyeh, to respond to the urgent need of adolescent girls to enhance their access to reproductive health services, address the unique challenges they face, ensuring a positive and sustainable impact on local communities.
The initiative aims to support to young mothers, raise community awareness, and train healthcare staff to deliver sensitive and effective services.
Providing Integrated Services for Young Mothers and Adolescent Girls
To promote reproductive health, the “Amal” initiative provides essential support to adolescent girls through:
* Enhancing Access to Health Services by focusing on delivering reproductive health services that meet the specific needs of this group.
* Providing PSS to young mothers to help them navigate life’s challenges and build a more stable future.
* Raising community awareness through campaigns collaborating with activists and community leaders to correct misconceptions and foster a supportive environment.
Young Mothers Club
The initiative is dedicated to creating a supportive environment for adolescent girls who have taken on the responsibility of motherhood early through the young mothers club which aims to:
* Provide a safe space to discuss their personal experiences and the health and social challenges they face.
* Providing PSS services through experts to help adolescent mothers build a more stable future for themselves and their children.
Community Leaders and Raising Community Awareness
Community leaders play a vital role in fostering community dialogue and correcting misconceptions about adolescent reproductive health. The activities include:
* Collaboration with activists and community leaders to highlight the challenges faced by adolescent girls.
* Raising awareness through workshops and awareness campaigns to ensure a deeper understanding of adolescent girls’ needs and create a supportive environment for their growth and development.
Training Healthcare Providers
The initiative believes that the quality of healthcare services relies on a qualified team capable of addressing the specific needs of adolescent girls. The activities include:
* Training healthcare providers in reproductive health and the unique challenges faced by adolescent girls, enabling the delivery of sensitive and effective services.
* Involving Female Civil Defense staff to provide comprehensive and direct support to women and girls in local communities. Female civil defense employees in Jisr Ash Shugur have been trained to provide integrated response.
Through the “Amal” initiative, Hope Revival is working to create a brighter future for adolescent girls, empowering them to face health and social challenges in their environments. Through joint efforts and collaboration with all stakeholders, challenges are transformed into real opportunities for a more supportive and just society
